I am a PhD student in the Bioengineering department at Rice University. My research interests encompass developmental biology, neuroscience and systems biology.

I like to combine computational tools with in vitro experiments to yield unique insights into multicellular systems. In my current work, I apply an interesting combination of live cell imaging, image analysis and graph theory to unearth general design principles of neural network formation from stem cells.

As a graduate student, I have come to realize that accurately disseminating research work to the broad scientific community is an essential part of the scientific process. I am currently endeavoring to master the art of science communication as an intern at the Science Media Center.
